The following information explains what may happen following a clerical re-check, a review of marking and any subsequent appeal.
If you are dissatisfied with your exam result, you can request a review of the results. The fee for remarking each exam paper using the standard service ( Not -priority). It’s important to understand that the marks can either increase or decrease as a result of a re-mark, which exam boards refer to as a “review of results.” If your grade changes but the mark does not, 75% of the remarking fee will be refunded to the center.
If you submit a request for a clerical re-check or a review of the original marking, followed by an appeal after your subject grade has been issued, there are three potential outcomes:
- Your original mark is lowered, which may result in a lower final grade than the one you initially received.
- Your original mark is confirmed as correct, resulting in no change to your grade.
- Your original mark is raised, which may result in a higher final grade than the one you initially received.
To proceed with a clerical re-check or review of marking, you must sign the form below. By signing, you acknowledge that you understand the possible outcomes and provide your consent for the clerical re-check or review of marking to be submitted to the head of your school or college.
